Change what Balancivo has learned

When you categorize a transaction on Review with Remember my category for each merchant checked, Balancivo remembers that merchant and files its next transactions the same way. You can see and change everything it has learned in Settings.

Steps

1. Go to Settings and find What Balancivo has learned. The Merchants list shows each merchant and the category it Files it under.
2. To find a merchant, type in Search merchants or categories.
3. To see its transactions, click the merchant's name. Review opens, filtered to that merchant.
4. To change where it goes, pick a new category from the list next to it. It saves right away.
5. To stop filing it automatically, click Turn off.

Good to know

• When you change a merchant's category, Balancivo re-files that merchant's open transactions that it filed automatically. Transactions you categorized yourself, and reviewed ones, stay as they are.
• Turn off doesn't change anything already filed. Those transactions keep their category.
• If you see a link to show older rules that match exact statement text, those were saved before Balancivo learned by merchant. Most include a one-time reference number, so they rarely match anything new. Turning them off is safe.
• If the list is empty, nothing has been learned yet. Pick categories on Review with the remember box checked.
• Owners and bookkeepers can both change this list.
