Bills are what you owe your vendors. Go to Invoices and bills, and click Bills at the top. When a vendor sends you a bill, click New bill. Pick the vendor. If they're new, choose Add a new vendor to add them right here. Type the number printed on the vendor's bill. If it doesn't have one, keep the number Balancivo suggests. Check the bill date and pick the terms, and the due date fills in. Enter what the bill is for and the amount, and choose the kind of expense. Add a memo if it helps, like the vendor's order number. Click Save bill. Back on the list, You owe vendors shows what you owe, and Past due shows anything that's late.
A bill is what you owe a vendor. Enter one when a vendor sends you a bill, so you can see what you owe and when it's due. It becomes an expense when you pay it and record the payment.
