Every column in Review has a filter right under its heading. Combine them to find exactly what you need. Pick To review, Reviewed, or All. Let's look at everything. Under Date, pick a month to see just those transactions. Type in Search to find a merchant. It searches Zelle memos too. The line at the top shows how many match, and the money in and out. The totals always match what's showing. Click Clear all filters to see everything again. Back in To review, choose Uncategorized under Category to see what still needs a category. Or choose Suggested, not yet confirmed, to check the categories Balancivo filled in for you. Fix any that aren't right. This Comcast bill is internet service, so it goes under Utilities, not Office. Then click Mark shown as reviewed to finish the whole group at once.
Each column in Review has a filter under its heading. Combine them to find exactly what you need, for example all Amazon purchases in August that are still uncategorized. The totals at the top always match what's showing.
Steps
- Go to Review and pick To review, Reviewed or All.
- Filter by date. Under Date, pick a month, All dates, or Custom range… and set From and To.
- Search descriptions. Type in Search under Description. This also searches merchant names and Zelle memos.
- Filter by account. If you have more than one account, pick one under Account.
- Filter by amount. Under Amount, choose In or Out, and type a Min or Max.
- Filter by category. Under Category, choose a category, or one of these:
- Uncategorized
- Suggested, not yet confirmed
- Filled from my earlier choices
- Search notes. Type in Search under Note. Type a dash (-) to show transactions without a note.
- Act on what's showing. Click Mark shown as reviewed at the top (it shows how many) to review every categorized transaction in the list.
Good to know
- The line above the list reads "Showing" with how many match, plus the total money in and money out.
- Click Clear all filters to put everything back.
- Filtering by a category also finds split transactions that have a part in that category. See Split a transaction.
- Review loads the newest 2,000 transactions in the view you picked. If you have more, use To review or a month to narrow it.
- Amount filters work on the size of the amount, so 50 matches both $50 in and $50 out.
